The Year in Review
In 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic worsened, the Euth® Foundation organized and hosted FREE virtual events to help people stay connected, healthy, and hopeful. We held our inaugural conference, Global Launchpad, on April 15-17, after organizing it in only 3 weeks! At Global Launchpad, we encouraged participants from around the world to brainstorm ideas for creating positive change and taught them how to turn their ideas into action. The conference featured speakers, such as the Miss Universe 2019 titleholders, Bakari Sellers, and Harvard and Yale affiliates. Performances by Daniel D. and America's Got Talent alumni Sons of Serendip, Dania Díaz, and Jackie Fabulous provided some respite and inspired us to keep going. In May, we hosted additional events focused on mental health and helping youth cope with the pandemic; Antoinette Tuff delivered our keynote. On Juneteenth, we held Global Day of Action with 8 hours and 46 minutes of programming in English and Portuguese to celebrate Black culture and promote actions towards eradicating racism and police brutality. 8 hrs and 46 min = 1 min for each second the officer pressed his knee against George Floyd's neck. As college students lost internships due to COVID-19, we also started a summer internship program to provide alternative opportunities. 5 students from the United States, Brazil, and South Africa completed our program and qualified for awards, such as the President's Volunteer Service Award. Now, we are preparing for 2021, and we are excited! Read how you can get involved below. Stay tuned...
As the COVID-19 pandemic started, I was unemployed, broke, and felt broken. In late March 2020, I believe the Lord wanted me to convene people from around the world to brainstorm ideas for creating change and to help people stay healthy and hopeful. I had no money, no staff, and no experience with organizing a virtual conference; but three weeks later, people gathered from around the world at Global Launchpad. It was a miracle. I am so grateful for everyone who has volunteered and donated to make this work possible in 2020 and beyond. Thank you for supporting our work.

One of my best highlights for 2020 is being part of the Euth Foundation. Thanks to the curiosity of scrolling on social media, I discovered the foundation and continued to engage with all the events. The networking events I enjoy very much because I love meeting new people and getting to know what their crafts are and how they make things happen. The performances I also enjoyed very much. The most valuable impact with being part of the events is the encouragement to become more involved in making a difference where it is needed. It has now been an honour to volunteer with the organization. I am most certainly looking forward to growing with the team and learning more and making a difference where I can. God Bless.
